  • Occasionally we will retire one of our own.
  • We place them with families that we know will keep in touch and provide frequent updates.
  • A retired sphynx is spoiled with expectations already established on how they will rule their domain. We do not take placing retired sphynx lightly.
  • We select homes where our retirees will be the center of the universe. Often that means a single cat home.
  • Retired sphynx leave with an HCM contract. The length of that HCM requirement dictates the rehoming fee.

Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy (HCM) is a heart condition common to several exotic breeds to include Sphynx cats. The walls of the heart become thickened, making it harder for the heart to pump blood effectively. This condition is often hereditary and can lead to heart failure if not managed. While some cats may show no symptoms, others can experience difficulty breathing or lethargy, so regular heart screenings are essential for early detection.
